About Me

During my undergraduate studies at the University of Ghana, I volunteered at an orphanage, and that spurred my interest in teaching. I decided to go into the teaching profession after I graduated from college.

I taught reading comprehension, composition, spelling and grammar to fourth, fifth and sixth graders. My class sizes were between 50 and 58.

But after pondering over the marketability and monetary value of the profession, I chose to do something different. That is not to undermine the teaching profession in anyway because my mom, dad and elder brother are all professional teachers.

Now I am pursuing a master’s degree at Kent State University. I chose public relations at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication because the program fits very well with my career plans and personality.

My interest in teaching has not faded away completely. Over the summer I worked with Envisionemi as faculty advisor. It was very rewarding because it had to do with teaching and children. That is why I intend to specialize in either education related PR or government relations.

I love climbing trees. As a child, I used to go searching for the tallest, darkest trees to climb after school. On the tree tops, I had the chance to reflect on what had happened at school that day. I spent most of my time laughing at follies and seriously pondering over issues.

On my blog, I will be pondering over ethical issues from the top of an imaginary tree from my childhood.
